LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — State police say a Lake Charles mother and two of her sons have been arrested on suspicion of distributing bath salts.
Troopers say 48-year-old Verna Oliver, 25-year-old Daniel Oliver and 24-year-old Matthew Oliver were booked with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule 1 controlled dangerous substance.
Sgt. James Anderson says state police recovered three kilograms of bath salts worth about $134,000.
Anderson said authorities earlier this month learned that a package containing Ecstasy and bath salts was being shipped to Lake Charles.
On Tuesday, an agent with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service delivered the package to the Olivers and Daniel Oliver signed for it. State police and members of the Office of Homeland Security and the Drug Enforcement Agency then raided the home.
