House of Blues in Houston was the place to be Monday night to go see Gavin Degraw perform his top hits. The stage was lit up with blue lights with a crowd of anxious fans waiting. The concert was sold out and there were a lot of people turned away thinking they would show up at the door and buy tickets. Drinks were flowing, but most of the crowd was underage. Many parents came with their kids to make sure they didn’t make the wrong decision. Andy Grammer was the opening act and he did an amazing job getting the crowd ready for Degraw. He still had some flaws in his performance where he didn’t just flow into the next song and it seemed a little sloppy, but when he started to sing all was forgiven. He even hopped down off the stage and was singing in the crowd letting fans touch him.

Gavin Degraw came out with a bang starting the concert at the top of the stairs with an array of lights. The crowd went crazy as he came down the stairs. He performed his top hits such as “I Don’t Want To Be”, “Chariot”, and “Not Over You” and of course everyone knew every word and could be heard singing along. He seemed to have lost quite a bit of weight and was a ball of energy never losing stride throughout his performance and he made sure to interact with the crowd. After Degraw ended with “Not Over You”, he left the stage but came right back out to sign autographs. Many different things were thrown on stage, like iphones and bras, but mostly T-shirts and hats. Overall it was a great experience and an amazing performance by Andy Grammer and Gavin Degraw.
