ANGLETON, Texas (AP) — A man already free on bond for a Houston-area murder in 2009 has been arrested for a fatal shooting two months ago on a Southeast Texas beach.
Police say 19-year-old Deandre Gray fled from officers near his Houston home and was found hiding Thursday night in the freezer at a restaurant.
Gray was held Friday at the Brazoria County Jail under $1 million bond. There was no information on an attorney for him.
Sheriff Charles Wagner says Gray tossed out a bag containing drugs and a gun during his getaway attempt.
Gray is accused of the fatal drive-by shooting of 26-year-old Derrick Milam at an April 7 party at Surfside Beach. The party got out of control when more than 10,000 people converged on the small beachfront community. Milam was believed to be an innocent bystander.
