HOUSTON (CBS Houston) — Three local teens are facing capital murder charges after reportedly stabbing and shooting a man in front of his wife and 13-year-old stepdaughter.
Houston resident Victor Quevado was killed in a parking lot on Saturday night, KHOU-TV reports.
Detectives told the station that three suspects – Christian Alexander Lopez, 17, and two 15-year-old suspects whose names were not released due to their age – were all involved in Quevado’s death, which took place while his wife and stepdaughter looked on helplessly.
The two 15-year-old suspects confessed, police say, but Lopez remained at large as of Tuesday.
The wife and stepdaughter, who were not physically injured, told authorities that the suspects also took two cell phones.
Another shooting took place near the scene just two hours later, and local authorities are trying to figure out if the two crimes are connected.
