LEXINGTON, Texas (AP) — Authorities say a skydiver has been killed after an apparent parachute problem during a jump in Central Texas.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says the man was dead at the scene Sunday afternoon near Lexington, about 45 miles east of Austin. A witness told deputies that the parachute did not appear to fully deploy before the man hit the ground.

Officials with the Texas Skydiving Center say the man had undergone training and was attempting a solo jump.

The name of the victim was not immediately released.
