HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) — The Rockets will be without leading scorer and starting shooting guard Kevin Martin for Tuesday night’s showdown with the Los Angeles Lakers, marking his fifth straight game he has sat out with a right shoulder injury.

After going through a workout Monday in practice, Martin did not participate in Tuesday morning’s shoot around. Head coach Kevin McHale said prior to Tuesday night’s game that Martin would not play and that he did not know when Martin would return.

The Rockets are 2-2 during the four games without Martin, but are about to hit a critical stretch of the season without their starting backcourt in place. Point guard Kyle Lowry has also been out for a while with bacterial infection and his return is uncertain.
