The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has been a tradition in Houston since 1932. From cattle roping and smoked turkey legs to exciting thrill rides and carnival games, the rodeo is the highlight of the year for many Houstonians. Added to the entertainment of the livestock shows and carnival is the excitement of the after-party at The Hideout.
The Hideout is located near the famous Astrodome in Reliant Park. Partygoers age 21 and up are invited to have a great time and hear music from up-and-coming artists. Riza Routte’, a Houstonian who has frequented The Hideout and plans to attend again this year, says that she goes for ” the food, fun and the friendliness of the people.” She was able to enjoy the band Two Tons of Steel, and other live music last year. Riza added, “If you’re 21 and older, it’s the best place to hang out and enjoy good clean music, dancing and you get to see the musicians up close and personal.” The Hideout is the official after party of the Rodeo with live entertainment every night. For many Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Patrons, The Hideout is a can’t-miss part of the rodeo experience. Here are a few of the hottest acts.
Honeybrowne is featured at the Hideout on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Led by singer and songwriter Fred Andrews, the band has released albums and can be heard on local Houston radio stations. The band is currently promoting their latest CD entitled, “This Side of Crazy.”
“Jesus and Johnny Cash” is the title of Jarrod Birmingham’s latest album and he is giving Houstonians a chance to hear it live on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at The Hideout. This traditional country singer has had number one hits, but used to make a living as a professional bull rider. Don’t miss your opportunity to check out his live musical performance, which has received rave reviews.
Kimberly Kelly is the only female artist to grace The Hideout stage this rodeo season. She will perform on March 15, 2012. Kelly is from Lorena, Texas and travels around the state opening for other Texas artists. The country singer released an album in 2010 entitled, “Sweet Time Dreamin’” and has made it to the Texas Music Chart.
Last on The Hideout’s lineup is Todd Fritsch, a young country singer described as a real cowboy. His single, Texas Talkin’ stayed on the Texas Music Chart in 2009. Todd Fritsch will close out the rodeo celebration on March 18th, 2012.
