Texas Daycare Worker Charged With Dealing Crack At Center

MIDLAND, Texas (AP) — A 20-year-old West Texas daycare center worker has been charged with dealing crack cocaine from the daycare center.

A U.S. attorney’s statement says Rashawn Rapheal Lewis was charged Tuesday with a count of distributing crack cocaine. He remains in Midland County Jail in Midland without bond pending a federal detention hearing scheduled for later this week.

According to court documents, investigators say the Midland man sold about two grams of crack cocaine while on the premises of the daycare center where he works. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 20 years in federal prison.

Online jail documents don’t list an attorney for Lewis.
