The nominees for this year’s Academy Awards were announced this morning in Los Angeles, and Martin Scorsese’s Paris adventure Hugo leads the pack this year with 11 nominations, among them Best Picture.

The Artist, The Descendants, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, The Help, Hugo, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball, The Tree of Life and War Horse were also nominated for the top prize.

Nominees for best actor in a leading role include: Demian Bichir (A Better Life), George Clooney (The Descendants), Jean Dujardin (The Artist), Gary Oldman (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and Brad Pitt (Moneyball).

Nominees for actress in a leading role include: Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs), Viola Davis (The Help), Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) and Michelle Williams (My Week With Marilyn).
