Photo: Shockey Should Evaluate His Own Team’s Patriotism

anthem crop Photo: Shockey Should Evaluate His Own Teams Patriotism Following Sunday’s game at Reliant Stadium, Carolina Panthers tight end Jeremy Shockey expressed his disgust with the Texans and the players who didn’t place their hands over their heart during the singing of the national anthem.

“I was pretty upset in the way that they (Texans players) weren’t showing respect to America during the national anthem,” the Panthers tight end told SportsRadio 610. “There were about 10 players that didn’t put their arms across their chest.

“This is America. You should at least respect America.”

Shockey, who was obviously not gazing upon the American flag or watching the vocalist on the field, failed to to notice his own teammates not abiding by his Star-Spangled Banner standards.

The fan who took this photo writes:

Perhaps Jeremy Shockey should reprimand his own team for not being patriotic??? Numerous Panthers did not have their arms across their chests during the anthem Sunday at Reliant. Notice kicker Olindo Mare #10 to Shockey’s immediate left. Ooops…… don’t tell Shockey I was taking a picture during the anthem.

I count at least 20 Panthers players and coaches without their hand over their heart. What a tool!!

The funny part is when the trailer park trash Shockey opened his mouth talking about respect, period!.. Jeremy need to take a hit from his 2 litre coke bottle bong, and chill the ***k out!..

I was taught early on the hand over the heart thing applies to the Pledge of Allegiance”. Not the National Anthem. I am fairly sure they are all patriotic.
