UH Football Opens Dec. 17 Practice To Fans
Houston Football Interim Head Coach Tony Levine announced his practice schedule in preparation for the 2012 TicketCity Bowl and that workout slateincludes an open practice for fans on Saturday (Dec. 17) afternoon at 2 p.m.
This rare open practice (the only open practice during bowl preparation) will be held on the Carl Lewis International Track and Field Complex, located directly behind (west) the UH Athletics Alumni Building. In addition to the open practice, Coach Levine and his team will be available for a 30-minute autograph session and welcome fans to come out if they are looking for a signed UH football item before the holidays. Fans are encouraged to bring their own item to be signed and are asked to limit their items to one per person.
Practice begins at 2 p.m. and will last until approximately 3:15 p.m. Fans will be allowed to sit in the east stands of the Carl Lewis Track Complex.
Houston is completing a historic 2011 campaign, which has seen the program win a school-record 12 games and rise to unprecedented heights in the Bowl Championship Series standings. UH students and fans have also made this an incredible season with their support, breaking the Robertson Stadium attendance record for a second consecutive year. UH also finished the 2011 campaign by breaking the single-game attendance mark at Robertson Stadium in back-to-back games (vs. SMU and Southern Miss).
Game time in Dallas at the 2012TicketCity Bowl at Cotton Bowl Stadium is scheduled for 11 a.m. Penn State enters the game 9-3 overall and 6-2 in Big Ten play. The two clubs will meet for just the third time in series history and for the first time in postseason play.
