How To Make Caramel Apples

Caramel apples are a great treat and a fun project.

Follow the recipe below for a fun delicious treat.

Ingredients:

  • Bag of caramel (chewy variety)
  • 4 Washington or Golden Delicious apples
  •  1/3 cup of water, milk or cream

Equipment:

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Stove
  • Pot (deep enough to submerge apple)
  • Large spoon
  • Wax paper
  • Cookie sheet

Instructions:

  1. Place wax paper on cookie sheet.
  2. Fill pot with unwrapped caramel candies.
  3. Place pot on medium to low heat.
  4. Pour just a little bit of water, milk or cream into caramel to help make it more liquid.
  5. Continuously stir mixture.
  6. Once the mixture has fully melted turn heat down to lowest setting.
  7. Remove stems, rinse and pat apples dry.
  8. Place popsicle sticks into core of apples.
  9. Use sticks to dip apples into caramel sauce.
  10. Use spoon to pour extra carmel sauce onto apples.
  11. Place completed apples on wax paper.
  12. Place apples in the refrigerator to allow carmel sauce to become firm.
