Dustin Kellogg, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound right-handed pitcher who was selected by Astros in the 34th round of the MLB Draft in June, was killed in an accident involving an 18-wheeler early this morning, according to a report by KHOU.

Kellogg, who graduated from Caney Creek High School in Montgomery County, was traveling northbound on FM 1314 when his pickup truck crossed over several lanes and struck the big rig head-on at 1:15 a.m., according to the report.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
