FOX 26 News has obtained a full report on the investigation by a group of elected officials into Houston City Council member Jolanda Jones.
The report details how Jones used her city telephone, staffers, and resources to benefit her private law practice.
The panel of elected officials included Mayor Annise Parker, Councilman C.O. Bradford and Council Member Sue Lovell, who all agreed this was a matter that was serious but should not be taken to the entire city council for disciplinary action.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has already refused to investigate Jones on these charges.
The three-member panel did meet with Jones to ask her to write a statement acknowledging her actions.
