The University of Houston continues to expand its online fan offerings with the launch of one of the first 360° virtual video experiences in the country. The website (www.cougarfootballfan360.com) offers a virtual window to a behind the scenes look at the University of Houston football program.
The website, accessible from www.uhcougars.com, provides fans with a 360° virtual video tour that includes stops by Head Coach Kevin Sumlin’s office, practice, indoor facility and other areas. The website puts UH fans in the middle of the action and allows each visitor to interact and control their experience.
This new 360° interactive experience is being provided to the UH athletics department by ACS Athletics, the leading provider of web and mobile technology solutions for increasing operational performance and reducing risk for collegiate athletics departments.
“ACS Athletics has been a great partner to the University of Houston football program,” said Kevin Sumlin, Houston head football coach. “In addition to providing our staff first class support for their industry leading recruiting and operational software, ACS’s marketing services have helped us build interest and communicate more effectively with fans, recruits and alumni. ACS gives us a real competitive advantage.”
The ACS Fan360° solution is one of the marketing and interactive services available to ACS Athletics customers using the ACS InControl™ System. ACS Fan360° can be delivered via the web or as custom iPhone or iPad applications. UH athletics implemented the ACS InControl™ system this past summer to help their department take an integrated approach to managing athletic department operations, compliance, communications and student-athlete information.
“We’re excited to partner with the UH athletics department to deliver one of the first 360° virtual video experiences in the country,” says Rayan Rutledge, Vice President of Operations at ACS Athletics. “ACS Fan360° is positioned to help our customers, like UH Athletics, engage their fans and supporters like never before via web and mobile devices, with the goal of helping them strengthen relationships and generate more interest in their programs.”
“It’s exciting to offer our fans and alumni an interactive, front row seat to what goes on behind the scenes,” says Coach Sumlin. “The University of Houston fan base will be one of the first in the country to enjoy a 360° virtual video tour highlighting our facilities, practice, team meetings and most importantly, showing how much fun we have which is what it’s all about.”
“We believe ACS Fan360° will help to redefine how fans experience and explore their athletics program from the convenience of their desktop or mobile device,” says Rutledge. “ACS Fan360° is a great addition to our marketing and interactive services portfolio that complements our industry leading software systems for improving efficiency, communication and compliance.”
