According to Tanya Zuckerbrot, MS, Rd, dietitian 63% of American adults don’t get enough sleep. This lack of sleep can result in obesity.
She explains that exhaustion can be confused with hunger. Sleep deprivation can cause hormone imbalance, appetite increase and, thus, weight gain. Adults don’t realize that grabbing the fat and carbohydrate loaded meals are contributing to the problem and not solving the tired feeling.
