Current graduating high school students and new college students are facing higher tuition rates at four-year colleges. Due to the economy, many of these students are considering enrollment at community colleges near home.
“You see individuals from different walks of life looking to improve their skills, improve their education and try to make themselves more marketable for the workforce,” said Diane Pino, vice-chancellor of Houston Community College.
More students look to community colleges for lower tuition , closer commutes, and convenient courses.
