Texans General Manager Rick Smith has had to juggle the roster a bit this week. Because of Kevin Walter’s injury, David Anderson has been signed to bolster the wide receiver group. Anderson can step right in and be a part of Gary Kubiak’s offense.

Tim Bulman has been released to create the roster opening. That means the Texans are down to five defensive linemen. Expect Bulman, or another DL, to be back once the injury situation clears up at running back and wide receiver.

The reason why they still have four running backs is because Derrick Ward has an ankle problem. So while Arian Foster makes his way back and Ward heals up, they’ll have depth.

Smith also told us that the Texans count on the Dolphins and the NFL to make sure the field at Sun Life Stadium is game ready for Sunday. There’s a Miami Hurricanes-Ohio State match up less than 24 hours before the Texans-Dolphins game. There are also thundershowers in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday, not a good combination.  The Sun Life Stadium field is also home to the Florida Marlins but the infield was already sodded over for Miami’s Monday Night game with New England.
