The Baylor Bears and TCU Horned Frogs give you an example of everything that is great about college football.  It starts with the history dating back to 1923, you know the Roaring 20s when women started to wear short skirts, make up and dance to jazz music and men played football with leather helmets.  That is what is great about college football.
TCU has had the number one defense for the past three years (2008- 217.8ypg, 2009- 239.7ypg, 2010 215.4 ypg) but Baylor has had the prospect of Robert Griffin III and they have patiently waited for his uncanny combination of size, speed and athleticism to take over the game and lift the Bears to heights that they have only been able to dream of lately.
This is the unstoppable force against the immovable object, and it’s on in prime time with both fan bases getting rowdy in a Texas shoot out.  That is what is great about college football.
Guess what?  That immovable object turned into a bouncy ball rolling down a hill.  Griffin III, or as the kids are calling him RG3, had a monster night passing for 359 yards and five touchdowns.  Just for good measure he tacked on 10 carries for 38 yards and a reception for a key third down conversion in the 4th quarter.  That is what is great about college football.
The first quarter was pretty even with TCU taking a 16-14 lead into the start of the second quarter.  From that point on to the beginning of the fourth quarter Baylor dominated with the defense putting the clamps on Paschall and TCU’s passing attack and Griffin exploiting a defense that gave up an average of 126.2 passing yards per game.  At the start of the fourth quarter the score was 47-23 in favor of Baylor.  That is whats great about college football.
In the fourth quarter Paschall, an untested sophomore quarterback replacing Andy Dalton, led a heroic come back on the road against a rival. On three consecutive possessions he lead his team on touchdown drives and followed that with a drive resulting in a field goal and the lead.  That is what is great about college football.
With the hopes of 15,000 students and countless alumni praying for a change of fortune Griffin walked to the line in a make or break third down and 10 on their own 20 yard line.  Griffin snapped a quick pass to the unheralded hero of the game, Kendall Wright who passed it back to a sprinting Griffin for a 15 yard completion.  Griffin then lead the Bears into field goal range where with just over a minute left they took the lead for good at 50-48.  That is what is great about college football.
