WHAT:                        The Houston Rockets are donating 100 air conditioners to Sheltering Arms Senior Services to be installed in the homes of elderly, disabled adults and single mothers with small children. Following a formal donation announcement, Rockets CEO Tad Brown and Hall-of-Famer Clyde Drexler will meet with Sheltering Arms home owner, 65-year-old Dora Fannon, to install the first unit.

                                    Sheltering Arms Senior Services: Sheltering Arms Senior Services, a United Way Agency, is a non-profit organization committed to the health and well-being of older adults and their family caregivers. Their mission is to promote the dignity and independence of older adults through service, advocacy and support for caregivers. Sheltering Arms will be working with the following organizations in selecting recipients to receive the air conditioners: Neighborhood Centers, Inc.,ChineseCommunity Center, Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), Target Hunger,WesleyCommunity Center, Northwest Assistance Ministries, Humble Area Assistance Ministries, Catholic Charities and Adult Protective Services.
