Agreeing to a deal with cornerback Johnathan Joseph isn’t the only transaction conducted by the Texans before the end of business Thursday. The defensive backfield, which struggled so tremendously last season, is getting Danieal Manning, a highly rated safety from Corsicana, Texas.
Manning, 28, gets a four-deal worth $20 million – $11.5 million over the first two years – with $9 million of that guaranteed, according to a report bySportsRadio 610’s John McClain.
Last season, the sixth-year player out of Abilene Christian intercepted one pass and made 72 tackles for the Bears. Manning joins the Texans after playing in Chicago for five seasons.
