Astros manager Brad Mills called a closed-door meeting with his players before the series finale against the Pirates, according to a Houston Chronicle report.

“Any time you’re going through a time like we’re going through, there are a lot of things you need to talk about,” Mills told the Chronicle.

Mills gave the floor to some of the team’s veterans during the 70-minute meeting. After losing 10 of 11 games and 24 of 30 going into Wednesday night’s game, the meeting seemed to be affective. The Astros beat the Pirates, 8-2.

This bring us to the J&R Poll of the Day.
