When Texans inside linebacker DeMeco Ryans suffered a ruptured Achilles’ tendon during a game last season, the defense suffered a tremendous loss to its morale and to its playmaking ability.
After the game, Ryans chose to speak to the media even though he had already learned that his injury had ended his season.
Ryans has always displayed outstanding leadership and is a teacher among his peers. Those same qualities exist on the field at Rice Stadium during their player-run mini camp as he is coaching his teammates and teaching them the 3-4 scheme, which they’ll use under new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.
In this video, Ryans discusses the latest on the NFL lockout and CBA talks and how he sees his defense coming along.
