J.A. Happ will try to help the Astros win the series tonight.  Happ (3-7, 4.65 ERA) is looking for his first win in five starts.  He has pitched pretty well in that time however, posting a 3.13 ERA despite an 0-3 won-loss record.

The 28-year-old southpaw is hoping not to become the first eight game loser in the National League.  He, the Nationals’ Livan Hernandez and the Giants’ Madison Bumgarner each have seven losses this season and are on the mound for their ballclubs tonight.  Hernandez pitches on the road atSan Diego.  Bumgarner is at home facing the Cincinnati Reds.

The Cardinals turn to rookie Lance Lynn (0-1, 8.44 ERA) in tonight’s rubber game. The 24-year-old right-hander is making just his second major league start.  Lynngave up 5 runs in 5+ innings in his major league debut a week ago, a 12-7 loss to the Giants.
