Astros Start Interleague Play With Blue Jays

The Astros hope a change of leagues will lead to a change of fortune as they make their first ever trip toToronto, opening a three game series against the Blue Jays tonight.

The Astros enter interleague play riding a season-worst five game losing streak.  At 15-29, they also have baseball’s worst won-loss record.

Aneury Rodriguez (0-2, 6.26 ERA) will try to help them get back on track.  He’s making his third start since replacing Nelson Figueroa in the rotation.  Since throwing five shutout innings against the Reds in his first major league start, Rodriguez has given up 12 runs in his last two outings.

Toronto starter Jo Jo Reyes (0-3, 4.75 ERA) is trying to end a personal streak of his own in tonight’s series opener.  Reyes hasn’t won a ballgame in 26 starts, dating back to June 13, 2008.

Brad Mills has Carlos Lee as his designated hitter tonight.  Matt Downs is starting at first base with Brett Wallace on the bench against the Blue Jays left-hander.
