Chalk another loss up for the Astros bullpen.  Brandon Lyon blew a 2-0 lead in the 9th and the Astros lost 3-2 to the Reds.

Aneury Rodriguez and four relievers had only given up one hit in 8 shutout innings before Lyoncame on to start the 9th.  Lyon walked the first batter and gave up four consecutive hits without getting an out.  Beaumont’s Jay Bruce delivered the final blow, an RBI double down the right field line, ending the Astros season-best winning streak at 3 games.

That’s Lyon’s fourth blown save this year. He only had two last year, his first as an Astro.  Manager Brad Mills, when asked aboutLyon’s future as the team’s closer, would not discuss the possibility of making a change.  Mills said 10 minutes after the game is not the time to make those sorts of decisions.
