Roy Oswalt has left the Phillies to head back to Mississippi. The former Astros ace is going to check on his wife and children after tornadoes ripped through countryside near his home.
It was about a year ago that a tornado destroyed his parents home in Mississippi. Oswalt may have been rattled by the news of tornadoes in the area as he gave up 5 runs in just 3 innings against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday night.
The Phillies hope to have him back for his next start but are leaving the door open to move that start back if he’s not able to rejoin the team in time.
