The Houston Texans have made 12 trades on Draft Day in franchise history, including three last year. In 2010, the Texans traded their second-round pick (51st overall) to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for Minnesota’s second- and third-round picks (62nd and 93rd, respectively). A few minutes later, the Texans traded the 62nd overall pick just acquired to New England along with the 150th overall pick in Round 5 to New England for the 58th overall pick in Round 2. The Texans used the 58th overall pick to select RB Ben Tate out of Auburn.
Houston executed a third trade late in the third round when they traded the 93rd pick, acquired earlier in the day, to Kansas City in exchange for fourth-round pick (102nd overall), LB Darryl Sharpton, and a fifth-rounder (144th overall) CB Sherrick McManis from the Chiefs.
