MLB Attendance Down Significantly

By ROBERT HENSLEE

Attendance is down across baseball, but there are just a few national league ballclubs who’ve had as tough a time putting fans in the stands as the Astros.  According to CNBC’s Darren Rovell, attendance at Minute Maid Park, when compared to the first 10 games last year, is down 11.1 percent.

Only the Brewers, Dodgers and Cubs have seen a greater decline from 2010 to 2011.  And those three clubs all are drawing an average of more than 32,000 fans per game this season.  The Astros, off to a 6-11 start, are averaging 24,824 fans per game.

Sorry Baseball fans you are just seeing a generational shift.Young people are more interested in basketball, hockey, football, UFC and even soccer. The absolute silliness of die hard baseball fans who thinks this game will ever be as popular as it was when America had nothing better to offer need to wake up and realize those days are gone and baseball will be a third or fourth popular sport in America in the next few years to come
