Surprises This Season In Major League Baseball

- Lance Berkman is hitting .306 with six homers (tied with the Reds Johnny Gomes for 2nd in the MLB) & 13 RBI (tied with the Dodgers Matt Kemp for 6th in the NL) in 52 At-Bats playing right field for the Cardinals. Astros fans will probably always cheer for the man who wore #17 during the good and lean times in Houston. However, they probably wouldn’t mind seeing him do this in an Astros uniform as well…
- Cleveland Indians are 12-4 and winners of their last four games… Right now that is good enough to have Manny Acta’s club leading the American League Central Division. The Kansas City Royals are second in that division at 10-6.
- Boston and Minnesota are performing way under the standard of baseball they were expected to play at this point… Yes, it is early and Joe Mauer is on the DL with an illness and Justin Morneau is day to day with the flu. Red Sox won their Monday Patriots Day game at Fenway Park against the Blue Jays 9-1. Daisuke Matsusaka only gives up one hit while pitching seven innings for his first win of the young 2011 season.
- Three hitters are batting above .400: Dodgers CF Matt Kemp at .475, Reds 1B Joey Votto at .429, & Cubs Shortstop Starlin Castro at .408
