There’s really no way to talk about legendary figures in Houston sports without mentioning former University of Houston basketball coach Guy V. Lewis.

The Houston Alumni Association is hosting an event to celebrate Lewis and his five Final Fours at the UH Athletic/Alumni Center on Friday, April 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees include former players and some individuals from all the Final Four teams. A light lunch will be served following the program.

Public tickets are $5 each and available at

Should be in basketball hall of fame!

  2. Billy Siems says:

A great man and a great coach. He always thought of his players and people around the program first. His vision for the UH-UCLA game in the Astrodome set the stage for all future championships. Guy V. not being in the Halll of Fame is a crime.
