Billy Gillispie could not have played his post-Kentucky career any better. He sat out, got paid, remade himself and his image. And, spent the better part of two years visiting other programs, college and pro, culling knowledge from big-time coaches.

Now, the basketball world could be his again. Among the jobs that have or will mention Gillispie as a prime candidate are Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, Arkansas and possibly North Carolina State.

He’s one of the game’s great coaches. That much is unquestioned.

Texas Tech, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Oklahoma and likely North Carolina State …

In his interview with us, Billy said point-blank, “I love a reclamation project.”
