The Rockets get back to .500 with the 112-95 victory over the Indiana Pacers. The Rockets set the tone early in the game; and from tipoff, they never once trailed the Pacers.
Rockets shooting guard Kevin Martin led both teams in scoring with 20 points, while the bench contributed with 38 points.
Tyler Hansbrough came off the bench to score a team-high 17 points for the Pacers.
The Rockets were able to play better defense around the post but still allowed 56 points in the paint by the Pacers, who shot 41.3 percent. The Pacers scored24 fast break points, but they still missed much more than they made and hit 38 of 92 shots. The Rockets made nearly 45 percent of their shots and made seven of 21 shots from behind the 3-point line. The Pacers attempted only five 3-pointers and made just one.
“We were outworking them, getting extra opportunities and attacking the basket,” said Martin.
