The popular IHOP restaurants are giving away pancakes to customers as part of fund-raising event that will benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which includies Shriners Hospital For Children-Houston, Shriners Hospitals for Children®-Galveston and Texas Children’s Hospital.

Starting at 7 a.m. Tuesday, anyone who visits IHOP can celebrate National Pancake Day Celebration by enjoying one complimentary short stack of pancakes. In return, customers are encouraged to leave any amount of money for hospitals affiliated with the Children’s Miracle Network and other designated local charities.

The National Pancake Day Celebration ends at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

In 2010, IHOP gave away more than 10.1 million buttermilk pancakes and gathered more than $2.1 million for the charitable organizations.

The annual IHOP National Pancake Day Celebration began in 2006.
