Today marks the first day of the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest with three days of cooking, competition, eating and concerts at Reliant.
The World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest takes place between Thursday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, Feb. 26, with the last two days open to the general public.
Entry into most of the competition cooking booths are by invitation only, but anyone can buy an adult ticket for $10 to enter the contest area and get a plate of barbecue. Admission costs $5 for children 12 years old or younger. Tickets include entry into the carnival area.
Live music acts will perform on the Miller Lite Stage at The Garden during all three days of the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest.
More than 221,000 people visited the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest in 2010, which established a record.
