A Philadelphia High School basketball coach has been caught on tape, assaulting one of his players. John O’Conner has been suspended since the incident, after sophomore Matt Kravchuk filed a police report, claiming that he was assaulted. The team was running a rebounding drill, as you’ll see in the video, then the coach simply appears to lose it for a brief moment, and knocked Kravchuk to the court.

When you watch the video, I’ll forewarn you, that after O’Conner knocks Kravchuk to the ground, he gives him a slight kick in the pants. Overreact if you will, but that part is the last thing I have a problem with. He nudged him, and told him to get up. I don’t condone anything that took place in this video (special thanks to FOX 29 in Philadelphia for the footage). I am just noting that in the video, the news anchor states the coach kicked the player when he was down, that is just simply not true. However, as I have alluded to, the damage was done, the coach took it too far, and will or at least should suffer the consequences. By my logic, those consequences would typically result in at least the termination of O’Conner’s coaching duties.
