Giffords Transfered To TIRR Memorial Hospital
Just three weeks after she was shot in the head outside of a grocery store in Tuscan, Gabrielle Giffords was upgraded from serious to good condition by doctors at Memorial Hermann Hospital. Giffords was given the all clear to be transferred TIRR Memorial Hospital where she will undergo rehabilitation therapy full-time.
Congresswoman Giffords was transferred to TIRR at 9:30 a.m. this morning where she will undergo rehabilitation full-time. Giffords spent almost five days in the Memorial Hermann NICU after being transfered there from Tuscan last Friday. The stay was intended to be brief but doctors wanted to monitor the fluid build-up in her head and determined a tube was needed to drain the fluid.
Specialists from TIRR visited Giffords in her hospital room, doing the rehab and evaluation work that did not need special equipment. Doctors have said she has improved every day.
